Why do universities release decisions in batches? Is it also true the later decisions batches have a higher chance of people being rejected ?

The strategy likely has to do with enrollment management and yield planning (which is boring and complicated, and something you probably don’t care to learn – I know I don’t).

UCs that release decisions in batches have the tendency to dump all of the waitlist offers and rejections at the very end of the release cycle. I suppose you could interpret that as “later decisions have a higher chance of rejection.”
