Did you know Berkeley offers in-person advising for prospective California community college transfers AND transfers from four-year or out-of-state colleges? Get in for advising during the summer to avoid the fall rush!

Advising for Prospective California Community College Transfers

Office of Undergraduate Admissions is offering one-on-one 15-minute drop-in advising to prospective transfer students between now and November 17, 2017. Sessions through July will be held on Friday afternoons between 2 PM and 4 PM. Sessions from August to November will be held Thursday and Friday afternoons between 2 PM and 4 PM. The sessions are first-come, first-served for up to the first 25 students who sign up; sign-in sheet will be available at 1 PM in the Transfer Center (100 Cesar E. Chavez Student Center). Advising for Prospective Four-Year/Out-of-State College Transfers

Transfers from four-year or out-of-state colleges may have their transcripts evaluated for course transferability through in-person evaluation appointments from now until November 1, 2017 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings between 10 AM and 11:30 AM. Visit Transfer Academic Performance and scroll down to “Students from four-year institutions and out-of-state community colleges” to set up an appointment.

    What do they advise at the meetings? Like, do they tell you what are your chances and do they look at you essays? Thanks

      If you read the Admission Drop-In Advising page, it says you may discuss “UC Berkeley Admission Requirements,” “UC Application,” and/or “Personal Insight Questions” with an admission officer. For the prospective four-year or out-of-state college transfer, the Transfer Academic Performance page says the advising will “determine which of your courses transfer to UC Berkeley.”
