UC Application is Due Friday!

Remember the deadline for the UC Application is 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on November 30 (translation: this Friday night, just before midnight).

Are you just scrambling to complete your UC Application now? Find a list of everything you need to formulate a competitive freshman or transfer application.

Before you submit the UC Application, review the Application Summary page thoroughly by clicking on “View Application” to see the application in its entirety; what you see there will look relatively similar to what the application readers see when they review your UC Application. Ask a parent, a guardian, a friend, or your counselor (or a teacher) to look through everything to catch errors you may have missed. Keep in mind that you cannot initiate the submission process until all status indicators (the green dots) are showing “completed” (filled).

In case you were wondering, the UC Application system will remain open after the deadline. Some massive natural disaster always seems to happen toward the end of November. As of now, students affected by California wildfires may request a 15-day extension by following the instructions here. Try to submit your application now, rather than waiting until the deadline.

If you already submitted the UC Application, log back in and review your submitted application to make sure there were no errors (for couple years, the system scrambled the Academic History section of some students). Contact the UC Application Center if your submitted application does not match the information you entered or if you catch any mistakes in the Academic History section: (800) 207-1710 (within U.S.) or (925) 298-6856 (outside U.S.), or by email at ucinfo@applyucsupport.net.

If you have follow-up questions after you submitted the UC Application, hold off until next week to contact me. I will also post something early next week that should address most of the post-submission questions.

Freshman applicants – If you are taking the December ACT with Writing and/or SAT with Essay test(s), make sure you log back into the UC Application and self-report the December score(s) once you receive it. Many UCs will review the application with self-reported scores (although you MUST send official score report for verification). Promptly self-reporting your December score(s) can expedite the processing and review of your application.

Hello, I called UC application center today and they gave me a different email to use to make changes to UC application if you made a mistake and it’s already submitted. The email they gave me is
docs@applyucsupport.net. There is a different one mentioned on the UC website and above.

Just FYI.

Depending on the kind of corrections you need to make, you may need to submit the information to the “docs” email. But the “ucinfo” email is the initial contact, where you would send an email describing the problem and ask what you should do next (like first-level tech support). There are some things the UC Application Center can fix (“ucinfo” would be sufficient) and other that require appending information to the existing application (need to submit to “docs”).

Hello Ms Sun,

I don’t know if this is the perfect place to ask this question but this Fall, I didn’t do too well in one of my classes. I’m currently planning on retaking it in the winter though with the Transfer Academic Update on the horizon I’m unsure what will be the ramifications of this massive change. Right now I’m just overwhelmed and kicking myself for not doing what I needed to do in the end and I’m wondering how I’m going to explain this once I submit my grades.

Thank you.

Do what you have to do and provide a concise explanation in Additional Comments, which you have access to during Transfer Academic Update.

The transfer application deadline passed already and I don’t think the system no longer lets you submit the application.

Any Questions?
