UCI Early Admission Notification (Freshman Applicants)
UC Irvine released a batch of freshman decisions today (3/11/2022) that mostly contained Campuswide Honors Program (CHP) offers. Check your decision at Applicant Portal and share the news!
If your decision is still pending, Irvine should release another batch (or multiple batches) in the next week or two, so don’t stress out if your admission status doesn’t change until late into March.

Could another batch still release tomorrow, or should I expect it next Friday or so?
Irvine has done both in years past (weekly or daily batches) so it could go either way.
Out of topic Question: If I get two Cs in AP Calc BC my senior year, will UCLA reject me. I also got all As besides that my first semester and one B besides that in my second semester. If I explain to them that I will make up for this by taking Calc 2 again in the summer would they not rescind my admission?
UCLA generally requires admitted students to report low grades (two C’s or more, or D or F grades). Whether your admission offer gets canceled is up to the campus. I would suggest that you include an explanation for the poor grades and how you will remedy the situation when you report the C’s.
Didn’t receive acceptance/waitlist/rejection from UCI. Should I be worried?
You can worry (or celebrate) after you receive a decision.
What are the chances of a batch of decisions releasing today? Also, how does UCI determine who’s decision’s come out first ?
I don’t have an answer for either question.
Was the UCI honors program acceptance only provided to those who filled out an interest form that they sent out in December?
The UCI CHP Admission Requirements for Incoming Freshmen still says admission for incoming freshmen is “by invitation” and that decisions are made “based on your UC Irvine application.” That may mean UCI reserves the right to offer CHP to students who didn’t express interest.
Did UCI release another set of decisions today?
Haven’t heard anything so far.
Why do the Freshman students decision come before the transfer students?
UCs don’t start reviewing transfer applications until after transfer students have submitted their Transfer Academic Update, which is due 1/31. Transfer application evaluation period is generally between February and March, maybe a bit of April.
Dear Ms. Sun,
As a transfer student, would different UC campus send audit email between March and April?
Not audit emails, but you may get requests for documents or more information as the UCs review your application.
Typically UCs will ask for unofficial transcripts if you have attended multiple colleges (such as five or six community colleges or a mix of four-year and two-year colleges) or course syllabi if you took courses that may satisfy English, math, and/or major preparation requirements from four-year or out-of-state two-year colleges (where articulation agreements do not exist and the transfer admission officers need to do an evaluation of the course content to assess transferability).
If you have a gap in education (taking time off between high school graduation and college or between college terms), there will almost always be a request for a detailed explanation for what you did during that time (even if you already explained it in the UC Application).
The purpose of the requests is to help the transfer admission officers better evaluate or verify your academic records. Receiving such requests is neither good nor bad; but you must provide the requested information promptly or else your application will be considered as incomplete (in which case you would become ineligible for admission to any UC).
If the final high school transcript is much better than the previously submitted for application is there still a chance for UCI to offer the regent scholarship?
I don’t think so. Regents’ Scholarship is determined at the time of application. The burden is on you to fill out the application correctly.
