UC Transfer Programs

You may have seen a long list of programs in the “Student Support Program Participation” section of the UC Transfer Admission Planner or in the “Transfer Admission Programs” section of the UC Application. Wonder how you can get in on the action to better prepare for transfer? Check out the program list below and do your best to participate in the programs available to you.

Berkeley

Transfer Alliance Project (including all TAP-related programs listed) – targets underserved (socioeconomically disadvantaged) students at partner community colleges

Starting Point Mentoring Program – open to ALL California community college students (Fall 2017 program is open to students applying for transfer during the November 2017 application cycle; application is open now, deadline is September 13, 2017)

Davis

AvenueE – open to engineering or computer science students enrolled in partner community college districts

TOP – open to all students at partner community colleges

Irvine

ADELANTE – open to all students at Santa Ana College

AIRP – targets American Indian and Indigenous students

Edison Scholars – open to science, engineering, or mathematics students enrolled in a community college within the Southern California Edison service area and on track to transfer to a UC campus

SSRP – open to all students at Santa Ana College

SSTI – open to all students at Santa Ana College and Rio Hondo College

TLC – open to students enrolled in partner community colleges

U-Link – open to academically qualified students at Santa Ana College

Community College Honors Transfer Program – open to students enrolled in the honors programs at Honors Transfer Council of California member community colleges

UCLA

CCCP Scholars Programs (including all summer programs listed) – targets underserved (socioeconomically disadvantaged) students

STOMP – open to all California community college students

TAP – open to students enrolled in the honors programs at partner community colleges

Merced

STARS – open to all community college bound high school seniors

Summer Up – open to students planning to enroll in the summer Math-C course (Intermediate Algebra) at Merced College

TIP – open to all community college bound high school seniors and current community college students

Riverside

SSTA – program appears to be defunct

UCRP – open to all community college students in the Puente Project

San Diego

UniversityLink – targets underserved (socioeconomically disadvantaged) students at partner community colleges

Santa Barbara

Transfer: Making It Happen – open to community college bound high school seniors in the Santa Barbara Cal-SOAP

Santa Cruz

TPP – open to all California community college students

Additional Support Programs

EAOP (Early Academic Outreach Program) – through all UC campuses (serves students from grades 9 through 12)

Upward Bound – available from all UC campuses (serves high school students)

MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) – available throughout California (serves middle/high school students and community college students)

Puente Project – open to all students

Cal-SOAP – available throughout California

EOPS – available through all California community colleges (targets socioeconomically disadvantaged students)

BOG Waiver – available through all California community colleges (targets economically disadvantaged students)

CalWorks – available throughout California (targets economically disadvantaged students)

Talent Search – available at most UC and CSU campuses, search for “trio talent search” or “educational talent search” at a UC/CSU campus near you (serves elementary school, middle school, and/or high school students)

Umoja – available through partner California community colleges (targets underrepresented minority students)
