UC Application Online Payment Glitch

Here’s a note from the UC Application portal about the problem:

Earlier today, we experienced an intermittent connection problem with our Credit Card vendor. If you are unsure about your payment status, submit your application by the deadline and payment can be confirmed later. Log in after 2 days and select View Fees and Payment to re-submit your credit card payment, if necessary.

If you have trouble reaching the payment page or if the application skips the payment page altogether (or freezes while trying to reach the payment page), don’t panic. Give the browser a few minutes (since the servers might be busy); if you are certain the application has stopped responding, log back into the UC Application and you’ll be presented with the option to submit the UC Application WITHOUT payment. Go ahead and submit the application and log back in AFTER 48 hours (the payment option will reset itself) and pay. When in doubt, contact the UC Application Center to check on the payment status.

You application submission date is the official time stamp. If you started your application before 11:59 PM PST, November 30, you will have until 11:59 PM PST on December 1 to submit the application and still be considered on time (even if you pay later).

I am a senior high school student and is working on UC application for Fall 2020. I accidentally used the portal for Fall 2019 when I initially set up my UC application account. Now, that application for Fall 2019 is also showing under my account on the portal for Fall 2020 application. I couldn’t find a way to delete the 2019 application. Should I just leave the Fall 2019 application there without doing anything (the application is uncompleted, nor submitted)? Would it affect my application for Fall 2020?

Don’t worry about it. It’ll just sit there and won’t do anything.

The deadline for the UC application has been extended to 12/04//2020. I submitted my UC application today on 12/03/2020. During my payment, my page froze, and I had to log back out. I was sent to a page where I could submit without paying and was told to check for payment 2-3 days later from now. However, 2-3 days from now would be passed the deadline. If I already submitted my application without paying, will my application still be considered on time even if I pay after the deadline?

The submission day will be 12/3 (you can log into your account and “View application” – at the end of the application will be your submission date). You just need to make sure you pay; otherwise your application won’t be forwarded to the campuses.

I have tried paying with three different cards and there has been an error each time. Now, I don’t even get the option to pay by card and can only pay by check, which I can’t do. Is there any way to solve this?

You need to talk to the UC Application Center; the contact information is here.

I submitted my UC application today on 11/29/2023. As soon as I get to the payment part, my internet cut out, causing me not being able to fill out my credit card information and having to wait for 2-3 days. After those 2-3 days, would I still be considered being late to submit payment for UC or not? I only ask this because I’am afraid I’ll be late and wont be able to attend until Fall 2025.

When you log back in, you are told to give a reason for why the submission process was interrupted. Once you do that and click on the button “Submit my application,” your application is submitted (when you log back in again, you should see an UC Application ID #). You just need to make sure you make payment as soon as the payment processing system resets (usually in two days). Majority of the UCs don’t begin reviewing applications until mid-December so whatever delay this may create will have no impact on when your application gets reviewed.
